Jun Kentwell - Director of Coaching
Jun was a player on the Chinese National Team for 8 years and captained the Jaing Xi Provincial Team to 3 National Championships. As a 12 year old, Jun was selected to train in the residence program at the Jiang Xi Sports Training Center where she developed into a fast and skillful midfield player. As a 16 year old, she was selected to play for the Chinese Under 21 National Team before making her debut for the senior team at age 18.
Jun graduated from the Shanghai Sports University and returned to the Jaing Xi Training Center as a sports administrator and coach. When injury curtailed her playing career, she took up umpiring and again quickly rose to the top, achieving International Grade 1 level where she has officiated in three Asian Games, The European Cup, The Pan Am Games, The Junior World Cup, three Olympic Qualifying Tournaments and the World Cup. In 2004, Jun received the Golden Whistle from the International Hockey Federation to mark her 100th International match.
Before coming to the United States in 1999, Jun was the coach of the Chinese Under 21 National Team. Jun now coaches in the USFHA Futures Program in addition to her duties as Director of World Class Coaching Field Hockey Program and Head Coach of the WC Eagles.
Huang Junxia
Huang Junxia is an extremely talented player and coach. She played left back and left midfield in over 300 international matches for China, including three World Cups and three Olympic Games. She was captain of the Chinese National Team from 200-2004. A Silver medalist at the 2008 Olympic Games, Junxia also won a Champions Trophy Gold edal, a World Cup Bronze medal and Asian Games Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. Since retiring after the 2008 Olympic Games, Junxia has been coaching the Jiangsu Provincial Team, where she was responsible for the development of both the junior and senior women's field hockey programs. Junxia is an excellent addition to our coaching staff and will specialize in skill development and all aspects of defending.
Rennie Milne
Rennie is an indoor specialist with extensive experience at the national and international level both as a player and coach in Scotland. He has won 8 Scottish National indoor tiles, 2 Scottish Cups and Gold, Silver and Bronze European indoor medals as an attacker with his Scottish Club Menzieshill. A Scottish Hockey Union certified Level 2 coach, Rennie coached at Tayside and Fife Institute of Sport working with Scottish and Great Britain Junior and National Team players, both indoors and outdoors. Rennie worked for four years as a hockey development officer in Scotland, regionally for SportTayside and Fife and nationally for Scottish Hockey Union. Rennie gained his Bachelors Degree in Sports Coaching and Development from the University of Abertay, Scotland.
Hector Martinez
Hector joins us from Spain as an offensive specialist. A forward on Spain’s Junior World Cup bronze medal team, Hector played and coached at F C Barcelona before joining Club Egara as a professional player and coach. Hector played for the Spanish National Under 16, 18 and 21 teams and was a member of the Spanish National Squad. With coaching experience at the T.E.M. Club in Melbourne, Australia, and Surbiton Hockey Club in England, Hector brings a wealth of experience as a player and coach both indoors and outdoors. Hector has a Bachelors Degree in Advertising Graphics.
Richard Kentwell - Assistant Head Coach
Richard has the unique distinction of having played, coached and officiated field hockey at the International level, having played for Wales and British Touring Teams, coached the USA Men's National and Pan American Games Team, and umpired over 100 International matches including the 1984 and 1988 Olympic Games. He was also the Umpires manager at the 2000 Olympic Games. Richard has written two books on coaching field hockey and served on the International Hockey Federation's Umpiring Committee for 12 years. He is currently Chair of the Pan-American Hockey Federation Umpiring Committee.
Jackie Gerzabeck
Jackie played on two NCAA National Championship winning teams for Old Dominion University and for the USA Under 23 National Team. She was also previously Head Coach at Villanova University.
Dani DeLeo
Dani played four years of college hockey at Miami University of Ohio. She is currently the head coach at Merion Mercy Academy and previously spent 10 years coaching Kennedy-Kedrick, taking them to the Catholic League Championship. Dani also helped launch the first youth field hockey program for the YMCA.
Mariel Marinelli
Mariel is a former WC Eagles player and currently a member of the Drexel University team. Mariel is an assistant coach with the WC Eagles U14 teams.
